Advanced custom air filters
Flodins Filter AB, with offices and manufacturing facilities in Lysekil, has been supplying air filters since 1950. We develop, manufacture, and sell custom-made air filters in smaller sizes that meet high standards for performance and quality assurance—when clean air is of critical importance.
The filters we manufacture are original parts that protect people and machines, designed for use in respirators and cabin filtration, among other applications.
Our history
The company was founded in 1931 by Gunnar Flodin, who initially manufactured food packaging from sheet metal. Since 1950, the company has been manufacturing filters. Until the mid-1990s, its main products were air filters for gas masks and civil defense shelters, which were procured by military and civilian authorities.
The business focused on products for protection against weapons of mass destruction enabled the company to build up a solid foundation of expertise in both advanced air filtration and quality assurance.
Alongside its defense products, the company developed partnerships with other customers in the civilian sector. In 1972, it began collaborating with customers in the automotive industry. “Automotive” became an important customer group.
The first filter for a medical device application was developed in 1990. New medical device filters were based on the company’s expertise in filters designed to combat bacteriological threats. Today, these filters are a key focus area for the company.
